On January 20th of 2017, Donald Trump was officially brought into his presidency as he gave his inaugural address in Washington, D.C. Trump’s whole speech was centralized around the whole notion of creating a better tomorrow and really changing the outcome of not only the United States but the entire world. A lot of people are still warming up to the thought of Trump actually being the 45th President of the United States, and that may take a while to get used to. The start of Donald Trump’s presidency began with a women’s march on Saturday, January 21st. When it comes to giving the newest information in regards to our newest president, CNN seems to be in favor of Trump and Fox gives out the opposing side. According to CNN’s article titled “Trump wrote inaugural speech himself,” the news found out that Trump was planning on writing his inaugural speech from two senior Trump transition officials. CNN proceeded to show Trump’s Twitter picture of him writing his speech and the caption from Trump stating, “writing my inaugural address at the Winter White House, Mar-a-Lago, three weeks ago. Looking forward to Friday.” CNN is advocating for Trump because of how they choose to show him off which makes it pretty obvious as to what side they are really on. On the other hand, Fox gives information that is different. Fox’s article titled “Krauthammer: Trump’s Address Will Be Remembered as ‘Forgotten Man Speech,’ due to the fact that everything he pointed out in his speech may offend the rest of the world. According to Krauthammer, “the way that Trump spoke about the outside world was the most aggressive, most hyper-nationalist and in some way, the most hostile of any inaugural address since the second World War. He drew a picture of a zero-sum world, where what we have done for the world, they have been stealing for us,” said Krauthammer. With that being said, Krauthammer said Trump’s “America first” message is going to have a “huge effect around the world” as it becomes policy. This side of the news shows how Donald Trump’s address may come off as an insult to every other country around the world. Both CNN and Fox show factual information, with bias in between their articles that may be “too” biased, whether it is good or bad.
